Six years ago my son Eric and I decided we wanted to learn to weld. We found a great teacher whose patience and knowledge got us off to a solid start. Eric is now in Montana and is using his skills in his field of mechanical engineering and I have gone 1/2 time from the health care profession and continue to have a great time developing my interest in the function and art of metal work.

Another successful year completed.
This year in addition to the usual projects I experimented with:
* stone topped tables and benches
* welded steel outdoor masks with
forged steel components.
* adding forged elements as my blacksmithing skills increase
*steel based - stone topped stools - surprisingly comfortable to sit on. I have a lot of large - flat river rock left so more stools with be forthcoming.
I have also been experimenting with patinas and combining glass and steel.
Unfortunately the economy has put a stop to the garden show we had planned to host in April. Hopefully we can try again next year.
Feel free to contact me if you have questions or are interested in discussing a project. I have a few pieces at home.
